When Is Christmas?
December 25th for most of the world. Orthodox Christians celebrate on January 7th because their churches use the Julian calendar instead of the Gregorian one.
When Is Christmas Eve?
December 24th. In a lot of European countries, Christmas Eve is actually the main event: the big family dinner, the gift exchange, all of it. That's why "counting down to Christmas" often really means counting down to the 24th in those countries.
